OOTD, Stanwick Lakes and Photography Fun!

11:55 1
OOTD, Stanwick Lakes and Photography Fun!
Hello, little loves!

Summer is nearly over, noooo! I'm so looking forward to Autumn/Winter fashion and going back to college, though! Summer gets a bit tedious, in my opinion, especially with weather in the UK!
So, last week I had the day off, so my boyfriend and I thought it would be fun to venture up to Stanwick Lakes, Northamptonshire, to have a cute little picnic, feed the ducks, mess around on the assault course and take a little adventure. We didn't plan on doing any 'photo shoots' but being photographers, of course our DSLRs got lumbered around with us, and naturally we set up on various locations throughout the lake setting in the wheat field, next to the mud hut, in the swamp and so on!

If you haven't been to Stanwick Lakes before, I'd definitely recommend going on a lovely Summers day, especially with younger kids as there's so much for them to do. My younger sisters loved the water themed park, and splashed around with the wellies on. Stanwick Lakes is in Northamptonshire, just in between Thrapston and Kettering.
Black Duster Coat - H&M
Black Strappy Jumpsuit - River Island
Navy Wellington Boots - Hunters

Me and my sisters blend in well with the Celtic guy, right?
... Aaaaaand, the final image, up on Karl Smarts Photography!
Check out my boyfriends photography on his Facebook page, at - https://www.facebook.com/KarlSmartPhotography
His work is awesome, and he's got some dates left for weddings, events and portraiture if you're looking for a photo shoot at all, you should contact him! :)

I'll see you in the next blog post, my little loves.

National Underwear Day, 2014!

11:54 0
National Underwear Day, 2014!
Happy National Underwear Day, lovelies!
Haha, I actually was totally oblivious toward there even being an 'Underwear Day' in existence, but as I was scrolling through Twitter and Instragram, I was educated and made aware of it!
NUD was founded by a lingerie company called 'Fresh Pair' and in an attempt to promote their underwear, they tried to beat the Guiness World Record for 'largest gathering of people in their underwear' in Times Square, New York, just last year. Unfortunately, they went defeated, losing to the Utah 'Undie Run' with 2,270 people! Wowza, haha!

I love underwear, though I'm not knowledgeable on what is stereotypically deemed as the most comfortable fit, what's best for specific body types, or what will 'turn on' the absolute hottie you're dating, but I do know what I think is lush, so I've compiled a post on where to get pretty lingerie!
I bloomin' love suspenders, I love lace, and I love the colour black. I think we have perfection in suspenders, here!
I found these beauties on ASOS, and I recently brought the VIP thingy they offer, which includes free post and packaging for next day delivery and all of that jazz, and I tempted to stick these babe in the basket...
Here's the link if you're as easily tempted as me! - http://www.asos.com/ASOS/ASOS-Amelie-Lace-Suspender/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3842221&sgid=8174&cid=15111&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Black
Oh look, a black lace bra, I think there's going to be a pattern here...
This lovely thing is from Anne Summers, and I'll admit that I'm not a massive fan of Anne Summers. I often pop into their store in the centre of my town and have a gander, and their babydoll's always catch my eye, but I dislike the look and feel of their bras and knickers.
Here's the link! http://www.annsummers.com/p/cara-black-long-line-bra/01brllas1028006
Black... Lace... If you're a fan of bright and colourful lingerie, this definitely isn't the blog post for you, haha...
This gorgeous babydoll is from the amazing Boux Avenue, which is my favourite lingerie store. I've never visited a store as there isn't one local, but I'm always on their website. I love everything of theirs!
Linky link - http://www.bouxavenue.com/tamsin-lace-babydoll-and-briefs-black/201338-01bl
Boux Avenue again, I love, love, love them! I need this black lacey slip dress / chemise, it's gorgeous.
Until this point, I've never realised that the majority of my underwear is made of black lace... Oops!
Bet you didn't expect to see any colour here, haha... A lovely laced pink 'Rita Balconette' bra from BouxAvenue! I think this bra is so cute, and I love the little satin straps and the lace detail.
Here's a link to this beautiful bra - http://www.bouxavenue.com/rita-balconette-bra-pink--mix/100898-20px
Ok, so I have something to admit... I'm OBSESSED with Topshops novelty printed 'boy pants' and have way too many of them! Scratch that, you can never have too many cute novelty print pants, ever.
Every time I go into Topshop, even if it's just to look, I always come out with three. The Little Mermaid, Gremlin and The Wizard of Oz panties are definitely my fave!
Here's a link to their boy pant collection, try not to get too carried away... - http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/category/clothing-427/lingerie-2313836#pageSize=20&catalogId=33057&viewAllFlag=false&sort_field=Relevance&langId=-1&beginIndex=1&storeId=12556&parent_categoryId=203984&categoryId=208533&refinements=category~[209802|208533]&noOfRefinements=1

I hope you liked this post, and have had a lovely National Underwear Day!
I'm off to go and put on my prettiest set and parade around my bedroom in them, dancing to Luke Concannons new album. If you haven't heard it, go have a listen! Luke is one half of Nizlopi who sang the JCB song back in 2006. Here's a link to his YouTube Channel! - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC49iefQrn1RkaeavOCId4Mg
He's perfect. My crush forever xooxo
See you next time, loves! :)

Style Steal: Kylie Jenner

10:33 0
Style Steal: Kylie Jenner
Hey, lovelies! This is my first 'Style Steal' post, which was harder to do than I thought! Great window internet shopping was done coherently, so... Haha.  I hope you enjoy reading it, and if you have any requests for more Style Steal posts, let me know!

More and more recently, Kylie Jenners style has been catching my eye. I thought she would be the last of the Kardashian / Jenner clan to be the main style envy, but with wardrobes of the likes of Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, and Kylie Jenner to steal out of, it's no wonder! I have to say, I'm slightly jealous. Where are my cool, fashionable big sisters at?

There has been a lot of conspiracies recently that Kylie has had a large amount of plastic surgery, and I believe she received quite a bit of back lash from it. I'm not going to state here whether she has or has not had any beauty enhancements, but in my opinion, it's her body and if it makes her feel good, then let her get on with it. I'm totally not against any plastic surgery, and although I personally wouldn't opt to have anything done to myself, if someone wants it, then great!

The first look is Kylie's Coachella, 2014 all black everythiingg outfit, which I'm in love with!
Here's a selection of clothing and accessories that are style steal replicas of what Kylie wore, and where you can get them!
Black floral crown - Crown and Glory -
 Black Dr Marten boots -

Studded Bum Bag - Ginge London -
Silver Coin Necklace - ETSY seller 'NativeMuse' -
Black lace top -Topshop -
Black lace shorts - Romwe -

Next style steal is Kylie's infamous power blue duster coat look, which everyone went crazy for over on her Instagram page. (including myself, who nabbed a long black duster coat in H&M the next day... Ahem)

Duster coat in power blue - ASOS -
White playsuit -  Mango -
Black tassle bag -  MissGuided -
White strap heels - River Island via ASOS -

I freakin' love the blue in Kylie's hair, and I think she looked so hot at the Billboard music awards this year. The look is so simplistic, but just works so, so well. So tempted to grab some blue dye, right now...

White lace dress - MissGuided -
Coloured hair dye - BLEACH London -

Silver chain necklace - MissGuided -
White strapped heels - MissGuided -

I'm shamelessly off to go and watch a trashy episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians... I know, I'm terrible.
Thanks for reading this blog post, I really appreciate it, lovelies!
Feedback and requests are welcome, so just let me know!

Thanks again, and a new blog post will be up next week. :)

The Fault in our Starts review! *sob*

16:07 0
The Fault in our Starts review! *sob*
OK, so I'm probably the last person to write a review on John Greens book adapted into a movie TFIOS, but I saw it pretty late on, so you're getting the review late, too.
I haven't actually read the book yet, nor have I ever actually picked up a book by John Green. *smacks self on hand* I'll go into WaterStones at some point and pick one up, I promise. Perhaps An Abundance of Katherines, or Will Greyson, Will Greyson. They have intriguing titles, hopefully the content matches up!

So, I'll start with giving the yet-to-see-TFIOS-people a little tip... Take tissues. Alternatively, take a boyfriend with a shirt on. I didn't take tissues, but just so happened to conveniently have my boyfriend beside me, who left the cinema with my lipstick, mascara, and more glamorously; my snot and tears down one side of his (Thankfully not white) shirt. His shirt resembled my used baby wipe after a long day. Seductive.

In my opinion, the film started off a little slow and it failed to capture my full attention until it were around 15 minutes in with a bit of comedy regarding religion. I didn't expect it to make me laugh at all, but I probably laughed more than I cried, and I cried a lot.
I adore that this film made me laugh so much, and was surprised that it did, as the advertisements for it portrayed the film as sad, and didn't inform you of the comedy of TFIOS.
The specific parts that made me laugh the most, without being too specific for this to be a spoiler, were how the cancer support groups leader fitted the annoying religious stereotype to a T, holding the support group "literally in the heart of Jesus" which was actually a rug!
Also, when Augustus and Hazel discuss their wishes, and Augustus finds out Hazel used her wish to go to Disney World? Me and my boyfriend just looked at each other and laughed so hard. I'd choose to go to Disney World any day, and that's exactly what I'd use my wish for, and how Augustus reacted is exactly how my boyfriend would. I will drag his butt kicking and screaming into Magical Kingdom one day.

I was really skeptical about going to see this movie, as it's not my usual style of film I'd go for, and I'd assumed it was too immature, boring and unoriginal, plus I've not read the book and one of my pet peeves is viewing a movie adaption of a book before reading the book itself first, but I am so glad I did!
If I wasn't such an emotional poo stain, I'd go and see it again, but I'd probably have an emotional break down if I allowed myself the pain of fictional murdering John Greens pure evilness in his character killing choices. R.I.P you little lovely character, you.

If you think you won't shed a single tear, I can assure you you're wrong. Don't quote me on that, though, I don't know how heartless you are...
The thing is about TFIOS is that you don't even have to find the actual story emotional, or even get attached the the characters in question themselves, though I dare you to attempt to not fall in love with either Issac, Hazel or Augustus. I think the main reason that I cried is because I know if I was ever put in a situation like Hazel, I have no idea what I'd do. I've never had anyone close to me pass away, and I cannot begin to imagine the heart ache, loneliness and fear I'd feel if my loved ones died. Whilst the cinema screen showed me Hazel crying over the news of Augustus' death, I cried with her, gripping my boyfriends hand and shirt. Long gone was the clean shirt, sorry, Karl...

It was actually quite overwhelming and strange watching TFIOS in a very full cinema. You realise just how similar humans are to one another, even if you think you're brain works very differently from every other person, your emotions get triggered the same. Every single person in the cinema, from the young group of girls, to the lovely old couple, all laughed in sync, and all cried at John Greens command. So surreal!
I won't make this review too long, but I recommend that you go and see this film. Even if you're due a good old cry, haha!

Apparently, John Green has a YouTube channel, and his videos are pretty cool, so here you go - https://www.youtube.com/user/vlogbrothers?hl=en-GB&gl=GB
Aaaand, Looking For Alaska, another of John Greens books, is being made into a film, too! Exciting stuff, I think John Greens going to be a massive. Not the fat massive, I mean reputation/media etc...

*Looks through every TFIOS post on Tumblr and sobs*

From Riches to Not Quite Rags...

12:33 0
From Riches to Not Quite Rags...
I don't know about you, (though I'm guessing we're all in the same boat, unless you're from MIC!) that you flick through Vogue, Elle, and Porter magazines lusting after every designer piece which is waaay out of your price range? I do it too frequently *sob* so thought I'd compile this blog post on current designer things I'm lusting, and comparing them to their not so lets-empty-every-penny-from-the-bank price range look-a-likes! I know, exciting, isn't it...

Kate Moss' Topshop collection killed me for the same reason of 'oh look, I'm a student and have no money'. Actual weeping. So, surprisingly, here's my first copy cat style steal...
Missguided - £24.99

Kate Moss x Topshop - £225
Everyone loves a good fringed jacket, and the one that Kate Moss brought out with Topshop was just absolute perfection. The detailing on the pockets and the sleeves makes the jacket even more of a beauty.
Alas, I cannot afford £225, so I head over to Missguideds website in search for a similar festival perfect piece, and of course, I found one!
The fringed jacket sold on MissGuided is a lot more simplistic opposed to Kate Moss' but it is still an amazing style statement piece, which I'll definitely be wearing again and again. (Plus, my bank balance likes me more)

You can find both of these lovely garments here -
Kate Moss x Topshop - http://www.topshop.com/en/tsuk/product/clothing-427/kate-moss-for-topshop-2916827/fringed-suede-jacket-by-kate-moss-for-topshop-2913949?bi=1&ps=20

River Island - £45

Little White Lies - £220
A simplistic black jumpsuit is my Spring/Summer go to piece. I love that Jumpsuits are an outfit in itself, and you can literally just throw it on, and look effortlessly stylish, and 'Vogue' as my Film lecturer told me, haha!
After seeing a black jumpsuit in a high end fashion magazine, I was instantly on the search for a similar one in a high street store, and River Island had them stocked right in the front of store. £45 down, but I look and feel great, and spent less than I would on a whole outfit too. Bonus.

The links to these two lovely items are here-
Little White Lies - http://www.asos.com/BASH/BASH-Easy-Jumpsuit/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=3816129&SearchQuery=black%20jumpsuit&Rf-800=155,-1&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=36&sort=-1&clr=Noir

Asos - £45

Phillip Lim - £625
Jeans aren't really my 'thing' but these ones by Phillip Lim are unique and kinda quirky, and I loooove them. Too bad the price tags about £600 over my limit, eh?
Of course, Asos come to the rescue, as ever, and give us these 'Farleigh High Waist Mom Applique Jeans' with the same style as Lims gorgeous pair.
FYI, I don't actually have these, as I know I'd grow tired of the applique patches real quick, but they're a great alternative to printed leggings, and Phillip Lims extortionate pair!

Here's the links, duckies -

BooHoo - £20
Vanessa Bruno - £265
Lace is my ultimate spring/summer material, especially in white. Such a versatile style too, as you can be effortlessly girly, or grunge it up with a leather jacket and heels, so easy. I'll definitely be doing this through Summer.
White lace dresses are everywhere at the minute, but when I saw this Vanessa Bruno number, I knew I had to have it. (This was before looking at the cost...Oops, haha)
BooHoo have a lovely variety of white lace dresses, playsuits and jumpsuits, and I also found this similar one to Vanessa Brunos, yay!

Links to these gorgeous dresses -
Native Rose - £55
Little White Lies - £120
I'm literally loving Kimonos this season, (although they remind me of the awful knitted ponchos I was forced to wear as a child, I'll hide those family photos...) especially laced, chiffon and tasseled beauties.
Kimonos are definitely an easy style staple, and you can literally throw them on with any summer outfit and look incredible. Coachella was full of people wearing Kimonos, did you see Vanessa Hudgens? Love!

Here are the links -

Kurt Geiger - £295

God of all shoes Gods Kurt bloomin' Geiger, guys. I don't own a pair of KGs and this makes me a very sad lady, for obvious reasons. Eh, I guess I'll just settle for copy-cat styles, or last season KG heels that are shoved in TkMaxx (Which seem to never have my size in nice shoes, *sigh* one day)

Links to these lush shoes -

That's it for this post, lovelies! If this post is a hit, and you all enjoy it, I'll be doing one a season, finding the best dupes etc.
If you have any other ideas or suggestions for blog posts, videos, anything at all... Just comment!

I hope you enjoyed this post, have fun in the lovely sunny weather!
Love, StephLeaMead X

Mini Yankee Candle Haul and Review!

06:00 1
Mini Yankee Candle Haul and Review!
Easter break is upon us, finally! College has been crazy hectic with all the deadlines coming up soon, so I'm glad for some slight relaxation, a gentle schedule, and more time to burn some of my Yankee Candles with a great book and lots of fatty junk food. What healthy diet?!
I went into Debenhams to buy another Yankee wax tart burner after my lovely, silly cat Ziggy knocked over and smashed my other one. Inevitably though, I couldn't just buy the burner, so ended up with two jars, four wax melts and two samplers to add to my collection!
I brought two Yankee jars, one medium and one large. I don't normally buy large jars and tend to stick to tarts, samples or small jars as I get bored of scents so quickly they normally end up collecting dust on my dressing table, or being used as a hat holder for when I first enter my room. Oops!
I do really love these two scents though, they are quite unique from generic floral and fruity smells (though I adore them too) so I'll definitely burn through these!

The medium jar is 'Sparkling Lemon' and promises to give you the aroma of 'Effervescent sweet Meyer Lemon with notes of energetic citrus lime and bergamot orange' although I personally make a connection with lemonade when I smell it, so the lime and orange are obviously subtle undertones to the scent... Or I just love lemonade? Haha.
This will most likely be the jar that I burn the most, as my boyfriend Karl adores this scent too, and with a burn time of 65-90 hours, it should still last us a long time! (Unless my ditsy cat decides to play with this one, too...)
You can see this exact candle on their website, here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/sparkling-lemon-medium-jar

The large jar I brought is 'Fireside Treats' and it's scent is described as 'The joys of camp ... mesmerised by the fire, singing and laughing, while toasting marshmallow to rich, gooey perfection'.I actually hate marshmallows... I know, shoot me... But the smell of this is so amazing! For me, it has a very sweet undertone to the muskiness. It's such a calming smell, and does genuinely smell as if you were roasting marshmallows.
Here's the link: http://www.yankee.co.uk/fireside-treats-large-jar

My favourite, Yankees wax tarts! With the tarts, you place them in a tart burner with an unscented tea light candle underneath to melt it, and then it releases it's lovely fragrance. Plus, it's fascinating to watch... Well, I think so anyway haha.
The white tart is 'Snow In Love' and Yankee tells it's customers that you will 'Fall In Love with this delightful blend of creamy, comforting woods and wintry powder freshness'.
I really love this smell, thought it's a hard one to explain! It reminds me of freshly washed clothing after they've been hung outside.
This is the first time I've purchased this scent, and I'm not a massive fan of it as it's quite a dainty, subtle smell, and I do prefer strong, fruity smells.
You can read about, and purchase this one here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/snow-in-love-wax-tart

The orange tart is 'Fruit Fusion' and is the strongest smelling tart here.
On Yankees website, they say that this scent is 'Summer-licious ... berries, orange and lime make this sunny fruit blend refreshingly tart and sweet' so this is definitely something to be burning right now!
The tart is linked here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/fruit-fusion-wax-tart

The red tart is 'Sweet Strawberry' and I love it, which really surprised me! Normally, I dislike strawberry scented things as they don't often actually smell of strawberrys, and just end up smelling tacky, but this is true to it's word with Yankee telling us the tart smells of 'The essence of perfectly ripe strawberries sprinkled with sugar'. See here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/sweet-strawberry-wax-tart
Reminds me of stamps seals! Where's my Hogwarts invite?
And lastly for my tarts, is the yellow 'Mango Peach Salsa' which smells amazing! It reminds me of Hollisters Laguna Beach body mist, which I love! Yankee states that this smell is 'Sweet and zesty ... juicy mangoes and peaches livened with citrus, ginger flowers and pink pepper' and they are right. I definitely get every one of those smells when I'm burning it, and will definitely be buying a large jar of this in future.
Yankees website doesn't seem to have the Mango tarts on, so here is a link to their samples instead! http://www.yankee.co.uk/mango-peach-salsa-sampler
I brought a new tart burner, and chose a beautiful white ceramic one, with lovely floral details in the side. It looks lovely in my room, and it's just the right size. I couldn't find this one on their website, but found a similar one here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/white-heart-wax-burner

Yankee Samplers! I chose 'Sparkling Lemon' (The same scent as my medium jar) and 'Pink Dragon Fruit'.
The pink dragon fruit smells divine. It's quite a common smell, sweet, fruity and floral, but it's amazing.
Yankee says this candles scent is 'Colourful and intriguing ... there's a lure of adventure in the sweet aroma of this tropical fruit' and I totally agree. It smells similar to their new Pink Hibiscus candle, which I love too. I'll definitely be buying both Dragonfruit and Hibiscus candles next time too!
Here's the links to them both:

You can buy Yankee Candles from various retails such as Debenhams and House of Fraser. I've also found them in cute little independent stores around, so definitely shop around!
Also, I found a Yankee Outlet store on eBay with great little discounts on a wide variety of candles, so that's definitely worth looking at, here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/yankeeoutletuk

I hope you've enjoyed this post lovelies, and if you'd like to request anything, ask about something, or just chit chat I'd love to! So comment below, or talk to me on any of my social media sites! :)

Thanks for reading, have a great week X
