I went into Debenhams to buy another Yankee wax tart burner after my lovely, silly cat Ziggy knocked over and smashed my other one. Inevitably though, I couldn't just buy the burner, so ended up with two jars, four wax melts and two samplers to add to my collection!
I brought two Yankee jars, one medium and one large. I don't normally buy large jars and tend to stick to tarts, samples or small jars as I get bored of scents so quickly they normally end up collecting dust on my dressing table, or being used as a hat holder for when I first enter my room. Oops!
I do really love these two scents though, they are quite unique from generic floral and fruity smells (though I adore them too) so I'll definitely burn through these!
The medium jar is 'Sparkling Lemon' and promises to give you the aroma of 'Effervescent sweet Meyer Lemon with notes of energetic citrus lime and bergamot orange' although I personally make a connection with lemonade when I smell it, so the lime and orange are obviously subtle undertones to the scent... Or I just love lemonade? Haha.
This will most likely be the jar that I burn the most, as my boyfriend Karl adores this scent too, and with a burn time of 65-90 hours, it should still last us a long time! (Unless my ditsy cat decides to play with this one, too...)
You can see this exact candle on their website, here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/sparkling-lemon-medium-jar
The large jar I brought is 'Fireside Treats' and it's scent is described as 'The joys of camp ... mesmerised by the fire, singing and laughing, while toasting marshmallow to rich, gooey perfection'.I actually hate marshmallows... I know, shoot me... But the smell of this is so amazing! For me, it has a very sweet undertone to the muskiness. It's such a calming smell, and does genuinely smell as if you were roasting marshmallows.

My favourite, Yankees wax tarts! With the tarts, you place them in a tart burner with an unscented tea light candle underneath to melt it, and then it releases it's lovely fragrance. Plus, it's fascinating to watch... Well, I think so anyway haha.
The white tart is 'Snow In Love' and Yankee tells it's customers that you will 'Fall In Love with this delightful blend of creamy, comforting woods and wintry powder freshness'.
I really love this smell, thought it's a hard one to explain! It reminds me of freshly washed clothing after they've been hung outside.
This is the first time I've purchased this scent, and I'm not a massive fan of it as it's quite a dainty, subtle smell, and I do prefer strong, fruity smells.
You can read about, and purchase this one here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/snow-in-love-wax-tart
The orange tart is 'Fruit Fusion' and is the strongest smelling tart here.
On Yankees website, they say that this scent is 'Summer-licious ... berries, orange and lime make this sunny fruit blend refreshingly tart and sweet' so this is definitely something to be burning right now!
The tart is linked here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/fruit-fusion-wax-tart
The red tart is 'Sweet Strawberry' and I love it, which really surprised me! Normally, I dislike strawberry scented things as they don't often actually smell of strawberrys, and just end up smelling tacky, but this is true to it's word with Yankee telling us the tart smells of 'The essence of perfectly ripe strawberries sprinkled with sugar'. See here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/sweet-strawberry-wax-tart
Reminds me of stamps seals! Where's my Hogwarts invite? |
Yankees website doesn't seem to have the Mango tarts on, so here is a link to their samples instead! http://www.yankee.co.uk/mango-peach-salsa-sampler
I brought a new tart burner, and chose a beautiful white ceramic one, with lovely floral details in the side. It looks lovely in my room, and it's just the right size. I couldn't find this one on their website, but found a similar one here: http://www.yankee.co.uk/white-heart-wax-burner
Yankee Samplers! I chose 'Sparkling Lemon' (The same scent as my medium jar) and 'Pink Dragon Fruit'.
The pink dragon fruit smells divine. It's quite a common smell, sweet, fruity and floral, but it's amazing.Yankee says this candles scent is 'Colourful and intriguing ... there's a lure of adventure in the sweet aroma of this tropical fruit' and I totally agree. It smells similar to their new Pink Hibiscus candle, which I love too. I'll definitely be buying both Dragonfruit and Hibiscus candles next time too!
Here's the links to them both:

You can buy Yankee Candles from various retails such as Debenhams and House of Fraser. I've also found them in cute little independent stores around, so definitely shop around!
Also, I found a Yankee Outlet store on eBay with great little discounts on a wide variety of candles, so that's definitely worth looking at, here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/yankeeoutletuk
