Here's my first outfit of the day of 2019! How's your year going so far?
Mines been pretty good, and it's my birthday next week (27th of January!) and I'll be the grand old age of 24 years. Feels very odd, but I feel like this year will truly be amazing. I'm happy. My mental health is improving so much, and I'm motivated. Feels weird to admit as I've had a lot of ups and downs in my little life, but that's a whole other blog post that I may write, or even film, soon...
Onwards and upwards, though! My amazing partner is taking me to see my favourite musical Wicked in the West End theatre in London, and I've wanted to do this since I was around ten years old, ever since being in a theatre show that did a homage to Wicked. We're also staying in a hotel in Camden, and we'll be eating all the tasty vegan food we can find. Temple of Seitan is the place we're most excited to try; if you haven't heard of it, it's like a vegan version of KFC. We're such junk food lovers, if you think vegans are 100% healthy me and Karl are living proof that this isn't always the case, haha.

SO, onto the fim / biopic of Freddie Mercury. My Bohemian Rhapsody review...
*Major spoiler alerts in this, so if you don't want it spoiled, go and see it. You'll love it!

First off, it's honestly incredible. I saw this film when it first came out in the UK in cinemas with my beautiful mum for her birthday, and not a single day has passed where I have not thought about this film. It was filmed and cast so very well, Rami Malek is just Godly. I may be biased as I love him as a person and actor anyway (Have you seen him in the Amazon show Mr. Robot? So so good) but he has an uncanny resemblance to Freddie, obviously after hair and makeup. He wore fake teeth to show off his overbite, and he method acted with these and wore them consistently throughout the filming period, even off of the set. Malek had Freddie's mannerisms down to an absolute T, the little facial expressions and sassy stances were on point.

The film runs from just before he joined Queen, formerly the band was called Smile and Freddie was still called Farrokh Bulsara, and runs right through to the point the played Live Aid together on the 13th of July, 1985. You get to experience the moment he met the beautiful Mary Austin and where they broke up after realising he was gay, which was the scene that literally broke my heart and the first point in the movie I cried. It also shows the arguments between the band, and how they walked out on their record company when they didn't like the song Bohemian Rhapsody, stating nobody would 'get it' and radio stations wouldn't play it, which is funny to see as we obviously now know how bloody successful that was. Also the last key thing you see is Freddie telling Brian May, John Deacon and Roger Taylor that he has Aids and won't live much longer right before they are due to perform their 20 minute set on Live Aid, and that is the part that absolutely broke me, the tears were fully flowing from then until the end, where they show actual photographs of Freddie and his then partner Jim Hutton with their cats.

Honestly, whether you are a fan of Queen or not, I reckon you'll enjoy this film. I adore Queen and Freddie so I could be wrong as I'm definitely biased there, but it's such a beautiful story of love, homosexuality, fame, and music in itself. The film is still running in cinemas in some places, proving just how popular this is as it's been out for months, but I cannot wait until the film is released so I can watch again and again at home. I'm not the type of person who normally re-watches films at all, I rarely see the same film twice, but I feel like it's so legendary and iconic it will never ever get boring.
I've not got one bad thing to say about this movie, the only negative thing I can say is that I wish there was more.

Let me know if you've seen it, and what you think!
Oh and if you haven't seen it already, I filmed a January Sales Haul and LookBook on YouTube here:
It's got the dress and boots from this post in it, along with other outfits!

Thanks so much for reading,
